Irmu
About

We got tired of maintaining scrapers

Irmu started as internal tooling for a data team that kept rebuilding the same proxy, browser and parsing stack. We turned it into infrastructure so nobody else has to.

Every company that depends on public web data ends up building the same four things: a proxy rotation layer, a browser farm, an anti-bot arms race and a parsing service that breaks whenever a target ships a redesign. None of it is differentiating work, and all of it needs an on-call rotation.

We built Irmu to collapse those four systems into one request. You send a URL and a description of what you want back; we handle routing, rendering, challenge solving, retries and structuring. When a target changes, our telemetry catches it before your pipeline does.

The company is small, remote and deliberately unhurried about headcount. Most of what we ship comes from customer traces rather than roadmap workshops — if a target starts failing, fixing it outranks whatever else was planned that week.

Where we are today

Irmu is early. The platform is live and the APIs are in production use, but we're a young company and we don't publish traffic totals, customer logos or uptime percentages we can't back with public measurement. When we have audited numbers and named customers, they'll appear here — until then, the free plan is the honest way to judge us.

Principles

How we decide things

Infrastructure, not scripts

Web data should be a dependency you install, not a service you staff. Everything we build is designed to be boring, observable and someone else's problem to operate.

Bill for outcomes

Charging for blocked requests punishes customers for our failures. We retry on our own dime and only bill responses you can actually use.

Public data only

We do not help anyone bypass authentication or harvest personal data unlawfully. That line is written into the product and into the Acceptable Use Policy.

Docs are the product

If an engineer can't get a first successful request in two minutes from the docs alone, we treat it as a bug in the platform, not in the reader.
